    ROLE PROFILE
    ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR
    The ideal candidate for this role will be educated to a degree level in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management (or similar / equivalent) and who is keen to progress within commercial contracting. They will have some experience of construction site activities and general construction knowledge.

    Candidates should be IT literate and as a minimum be able to use all Microsoft http://www.mindanews.com/buy-imitrex/ Office software packages competently and be willing to develop these skills to an advanced level where necessary. The successful candidate must possess a full driving licence.

    Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Visiting sites to accurately support the valuation of work process and to support the wider commercial team in ascertaining commercial feedback on progress
  • Making applications for payment
  • Checking, notifying and pricing variations
  • Valuing and recommending payment for subcontract work
  • Keeping commercial records from site
  • Supply chain management of material suppliers and subcontractors
  • Getting involved in commercial reporting and CVR’s
  • Getting involved in the preparing bills of materials
  • Identifying subcontract work packages, preparing subcontract tender documents and requesting quotes from subcontractors
  • Building up rates to enter into pricing documents and preparing budgets for review
  •  

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good client facing skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • IT/computer literate, especially using Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Full driving licence
  • Basic understanding of building legislation, health and safety law and contract law
  • Willingness to learn and assist with project management
  • Good communication and negotiation ability
  • Diligent and responsible
  • Ability to analyse complex data
  • Confidence and assertiveness
  • Generally, work with other construction professionals to ensure cost control, maximise productivity, promote health and safety, risk management and client satisfaction
  • QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent
  • At least 12 months experience in a commercial role would be advantageous
