JOB SPECIFICATION

Reporting to and supporting the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the day to day operational activities of the finance department and management of the finance team. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial ledgers/systems together with compliance with taxation and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Managing the day to day operations of the finance function including the direct management of the finance team.
• Maintaining hire purchase and finance lease schedules and the posting of monthly interest charges
• Maintaining fixed asset schedules and the posting of monthly depreciation charges
• Monitoring and control of intercompany transactions/ledgers and the raising of appropriate invoices
• Ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions into accounting system.
• Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial ledgers/records through adherence to internal controls, financial processes and the use of relevant checks and reconciliations. In particular all balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Management of the month end close process in accordance with company timelines.
• Preparation and submission of all statutory and taxation returns in the UK and Ireland, including VAT, CIS, RCT, VAT etc.
• Key finance contact and responsible for maintaining effective and proactive relationship with key stakeholders including:

• Client financial departments
• Internal departments and staff
• Regulatory Bodies
• Banks and other financial institutions
• Suppliers and sub-contractors as required

• Support FC in preparation of departmental budgets, forecasts and cash flows and tracking of same.
• Support FC in the preparation management and financial accounts.

JOB SPECIFICATION

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for assisting the Commercial Manager in all Reach Active Group commercial matters to ensure protection of the Group’s financial and contractual interests from the conception of a project within the relevant business sector through to final completion in line with commercial policy and defined procedures. He / she will professionally advise, and work effectively with, the Management Teams responsible for the project(s), to achieve a product which will surpass the Client’s expectations, but will minimise the risk to the Group and will maximise the profit making opportunities. The incumbent will also promote and enhance the Group’s reputation in the marketplace at all times, particularly in respect of liaison with third parties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: 

  • To assist the Commercial Manager in co-ordinating and supporting the relevant sectors of the Group’s business.
  • Ensure that all financial reporting, control measures and surveying duties throughout the life of all projects, undertaken by the relevant sector of the Group’s business, are carried out in accordance with the Group’s procedures and good industry practice, and within timescales dictated by the Project and Senior Management.
  • Ensure that all contractual issues throughout the life-cycle of projects are developed in line with Group procedures, good contractual practice and are then administered promptly and in a manner which minimises the Group’s contractual risks, including liaison with the Commercial Manager where appropriate to achieve this.
  • Provide timely advice to Senior Management, the Client and other applicable parties in respect of contractual and financial strategy and procurement options.
  • Ensure that all external invoices and payments in the relevant sector of the Group’s business are administered to maximise the project(s) cashflow.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

We are currently recruiting for a HSEQ Advisor to be based in Basingstoke, but who will offer project support across the group, when required. The successful candidate will have strong safety, quality and environmental knowledge (SQE) as well as knowledge on various standards, procedures and legislation in order to support the team(s) effectively.

The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake site audits in accordance with the integrated audit plan.
  • Provide the HSQE manager with first-hand information regarding the performance of site based work teams and subcontractors.
  • Take decisive action in conjunction with the project managers and supervisors in the event of any unsafe actions, or conditions.
  • Play a leading role in the promotion and development of a positive project HSQE culture and ensure that, best practice ‘so far as is reasonably practicable, is always identified and promoted.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide day to day advice and support to project site management, supervisors and contractors on HSQE issues associated with the Reach Active Group (Group) projects.
  • Provide the HSQE Manager with first-hand information regarding the HSQE performance of project teams and subcontractors and take decisive action in conjunction with project site management in the event of any unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Review, revise and update existing safety, quality and environmental management systems.
  • Assist the HSQE Manager in maintaining ISO 18001 14001 and 9001 along with other scheme specific accreditations.
  • Monitor and update as required Group Legal Registers for the UK and Ireland to ensure on-going compliance.
  • Prepare and submit work permit applications for Group projects in the UK and Ireland where electrical engineers and staff are required from outside the UK and Ireland.
  • Maintain own awareness and proficiencies to the highest, and most current standards.
  • Assist as necessary on all PQQ and tender submissions.
  • Gather accurate HSQE performance data from project staff and subcontractors and produce monthly (including and assessment against KPI) reports.
  • Provide first line support in the investigation of safety – environmental accidents /incidents and any utility strikes.
  • Undertake HSQE site inspections and audits in accordance with project audit plans.
  • Issue NCR’s/ CAR’s where appropriate and track remedial actions.
  • Liaise regularly with subcontractor HSQE personnel on Reach Active Group work sites.
  • Be the focal point for Group safety training and conduct any site safety briefings as required and promote the development of a positive HSQE culture.
  • Develop and maintain a regime of workplace assessments including office DSE assessments for all Group staff.
  • Undertake and implement HSQE initiatives on sites as required.
  • Be the emergency contact and co-ordinator for deployment of Emergency Preparedness Plans.
  • Represent the Group as required at any client led HSQE Forums.
  • Develop good working relationships with the Health & Safety Executive, HSE/HSA, clients and Local Authorities and other enforcing agencies.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Multi-Utility Designer / Design Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing multi-utility designs to clients within the multi-utility & power sectors.

These will include scheme drawings, Single Line Diagrams and civil construction packages. As this is a MU business, we would expect good knowledge of NRSWA, NJUG and various Statutory Undertakers requirements and guidelines.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED                                                                              

  • 5 years minimum working in the Multi Utility industry
  • Thames Water/National Grid Gas/Telecommunication network knowledge
  • Be able to draft scheme drawings in DWG and Civil 3D format
  • Understanding of Single Line Diagrams and technical abbreviations/symbols
  • Understanding of NJUG/NRSWA
  • Multi Utility Experience is key

REQUIRED

  • HNC, HND, degree (or equivalent) within the civil engineering or construction engineering industry.

ROLE PROFILE

Setting Out Engineer – Multi Mapping Surveyor

 The successful candidate will be responsible for providing multi-utility designs to clients within the multi-utility & power sectors. These will include scheme drawings, Single Line Diagrams and civil construction packages. As this is a MU business, we would expect good knowledge of NRSWA, NJUG and various Statutory Undertakers requirements and guidelines.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Review of Site Investigations
  • Understanding of Utility diversions
  • Understanding of site constraints
  • Marking up of Utility Assets onsite using RD8000PXL and TX10 survey equipment
  • Setting Out using Local or OS data points using Leica Total Station TS15
  • Draft of scheme drawings for construction (2D)
  • Attendance at Utility Workshops (client and statutory)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED                                                                              

  • 5 years minimum working in Public Highway/Civil Engineering industry
  • Be competent in understanding Utility Asset Drawings
  • Understanding of Single Line Diagrams and technical abbreviations/symbols
  • Understanding of NJUG/NRSWA

ROLE PROFILE

We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Lead to work alongside and report in to the (Business Development) Director. This is an important role within the company. The successful individual will be primarily responsible for the growth of company’s business and revenues in the electricity transmission and distribution market sector within the UK. The successful candidate is likely to have experience within the Power and / or Multi-Utilities sector, however experienced candidates from other civil engineering or construction industries are also encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

The responsibilities will include leading and managing the bid preparation process while maintaining contact with the clients and liaising with the engineering and procurement staff to propose an efficient solution and to complete the bid package within clients’ target dates.

Typical responsibilities include: –

  • Preparation or helping to prepare sales and marketing strategy for the company to increase their market presence and continue to develop their market as specialist contractors within the electrical supply industry.
  • Development of commercial bid strategies and identification of target projects both in short term and long term, in particular for large UK and European infrastructure projects.
  • Conducting market research in the electric utility sector.
  • Setting up an improved market awareness & business intelligence network to support growth.
  • Gathering market and customer information and providing feedback on future business trends.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers and to identify new opportunities by visiting client’s offices in person, and via telephone calls and emails.
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements
  • Leading and management of bid package from a commercial point of view.
  • Understanding commercial terms and conditions and to make appropriate risk mitigation strategies to protect the company’s revenues.
  • Liaising with the engineering and procurement staff to prepare design packages and cost data for inclusion in the bid.
  • Management of contract negotiations with the client.

ROLE PROFILE

We are recruiting for a Training and Development Administrator to join our team based in Mullingar. Reporting in to the Group Training and Development Manager, the successful candidate will offer first line support focusing on Group Training requirements, encompassing the UK & Ireland. The successful candidate will also assist in other general office duties, assisting the accounts and wider operations team, as and when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Training & Development

  • Receive all records and add/update training history in training database
  • Add new employees training history to the system and request Staff ID Cards
  • Create and Update Training Matrices for all Division
  • Run monthly and ad-hoc training reports as requested
  • Raise PO’s on Coins for training (Optional)
  • Contribute to the development of training systems and process, including database update

General Support:

  • Maintain and update relevant document systems
  • Manage office operations e.g. organizing stationary, office items etc.
  • Contribute to the creation of project folders and management reports as required
  • Assist with GRN’ing invoices on to our payment system
  • Greet guests on arrival to the office

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Computer skills, specifically on Microsoft programmes
  • COINS system experience (desired)
  • Experience processing invoices

Experience in a support role within an HR or Training team would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
