    ROLE PROFILE
    We are recruiting for a Payroll professional to support the payroll function for the UK & Ireland ReachActive Group businesses. This position reports in to the Payroll Officer and will work alongside the wider accounts team. It is important that the successful candidate has experience supporting / processing high-volume payroll.

    ReachActive employ c.200 people, made up of office staff and operations / site staff, paid on both a weekly and monthly basis. In addition, ReachActive will engage with an additional percentage of consultant staff, to keep up with the ad-hoc demands of our clients and short-term requirements. The Payroll officer will be responsible for the weekly and monthly payroll runs

    KEY DUTIES:

  • Comply with HMRC guidelines by completing and submitting any relevant forms, applying tax codes and national insurance instructions, completing monthly RTI returns
  • Support Payroll Reconciliation
  • Support the end to end processing of company payrolls on a monthly basis (including the collation and input of time sheets)
  • Updating and maintaining payroll records
  • Maintaining leave, sickness and overtime reports
  • Assisting with Payroll reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations
  • Payroll Administration
  • Calculation and processing of termination payments
  • Support with processing increases and calculation of back pays
  • Assisting the Financial Accountant with month end consolidation – when required
  • Reconciliation and payment of payroll and group tax
  • Reconciling payroll related GL accounts
  • Calculating annual leave
  • Provide monthly reports for HR and Finance for auditing and statistical purposes. Provide any ad-hoc reports required
  • General finance and accounts support
  • Ensuring mail is handled appropriately
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with legislation changes
  • Help keep filing and archiving up-to-date
  • Supporting the Payroll Officer with audit payroll reports to ensure that all information has been correctly input into the payroll system
  • To be a point of contact for payroll queries for the company

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
    The post holder will have relevant professional qualifications and at least three years payroll experience

  • Prior experience working within the construction industry or Infrastructure sector will be an advantage, this is desired and not mandatory
  • The post holder will need to be highly organised and dynamic to ensure payroll administration is done in a timely manner in order to accurately compute payroll
  • Experience with COINS is a huge advantage but not essential
  • Good interpersonal skills are prerequisite
  • Demonstrable payroll processing experience
  • Working knowledge of accounts, excellent numeracy and communication skills are essential as it the ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail is vital as post holder will be fully accountable for data entry
  • Excellent numerical ability and data entry skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and processes
  • Ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation
